Interns decide the actual work schedule with their project mentors and
put in 20 hours a week on-site. Interns may change their schedules during the
Pay Period with Project Mentor's prior discussion and consent.
What do the hiring authorities
look for in applications?
The selection of officials will take into account their background,
training, and project-related interests. Experience or education in subjects
relating to cultural institutions can be advantageous, while it is not
necessary.
Is this internship available
remotely?
Yes. It's a hybrid programme with both online and in-person tasks.
Can I work on two projects at
once?
No. For this internship, only one project may be undertaken. You must
select one of the offers you receive if you apply for both an onsite project
and a remote project.
Will there be a spring or summer
internship programme?
We are thinking about running the programme during different seasons as
it develops. Visit the Internship and Fellowship Program portal at
https://www.loc.gov/ifp for more details about internships and fellowships at
the Library of Congress. To view additional internships at the Library of
Congress, click the Overview tab.

the Advanced Internship Program for Archives, History, and Heritage?
Join the conversation on the dynamic Of the People blog, which features
AHHA intern spotlights, programme resources, and fresh approaches to using
library assets.
After my internship, Am I able to
find a full-time position?
There is no assurance that the internships will lead to full-time employment. We do, however, strongly advise anyone considering a career at the Library of Congress to review all of the openings posted on the USAJOBS and the Library's Careers websites. The new knowledge and experience you gained while working at the library can be used as a springboard and the person who oversaw your fellowship can be a useful source of information for job searches in the future.
